A picture of Porto from 2014 for inspiration in starting the preparation for Camino 2018. The plan is to arrive in Porto and walk to Santiago along the coastal route and then on to Finisterre and Muxia. I'll be meeting Rob and Gayle along the way and am excited to be sharing another Camino with them. We met on our first day of the Camino Frances in 2015 and have stayed connected since. Meeting up with them makes this plan even more special.
I've been searching flights and have lucked upon a great option to fly through Toronto to the Azores, stay there and explore for a few days and then go on to Porto to start my Camino. I haven't booked flights yet but am getting close to committing, just confirming dates. I've decided to upgrade my gear to include a trekking umbrella. After my experience battling the heat on the Via Francigena last year and finding my little travel umbrella to be helpful for managing the heat, I am going to invest in a proper trekking umbrella for this one. And now I'm making sure I get in lots of good walks as a start to my training. We should be starting snowshoeing this week. ☂
